PAVILION STAGE,
HOUGHTON FESTIVAL
The Pavilion Stage, completed in 2017, sits on the boundary between the forest and a small lake on the grounds of Houghton Hall. Our approach was to make simple moves that compliment the setting. The stage essentially acts as a large frame, placing the artist, trees and the lakes horizon within one view. A priority was that the stage did not dominate the setting, but instead subtly highlighted and celebrated its beauty. The structure was our first collaboration with Houghton Festival.
