VOICES OF THE WATER,
HYDROPHONIC SLIP CASTS

Cella ran a workshop as part of Global Generation’s Voices of the Water Project, which looks to London’s lost tributaries and post-industrial waterways in the city. Over two years, fellows will be researching, exploring, and imagining the cultural memories of water stories and practices past and present around Kings Cross.

From the Regents canal to the culverted River Fleet, workshop fellows used hydrophones to capture the waterscape which was translated into sonographic slip-cast bird baths. The bird baths will be given to primary schools in the borough, including the Frank Barnes School for the Deaf.
